I understand a law against texting while driving. The studies are definitive. It impairs your ability to drive and is a danger to others. But State legislators in Nevada are considering a bill that would make texting while walking illegal. Wha?

It wouldn’t matter if you committed the “crime” on the Las Vegas Strip or on a quiet residential street. The penalty for the first two offenses would be a warning – with the third being a whopping fine of $250.

While those people not aware of their surroundings can be annoying, is this sort of law really necessary? Big brother is really overstepping his bounds on this one, and I suspect it doesn't go far. What's next? Walking under the influence?
