Filmmaker George Lucas once said that the Star Wars saga was finished, but that all changed when it was announced that he's selling Lucasfilm to The Walt Disney Company for $4.05 billion. As a result, a seventh Star Wars movie, with the working title Episode Seven, is planned for a 2015 release with Episode Eight and Nine to follow.

The 68-year-old Lucas said, "I'm doing this so that the films will have a longer life. I get to be a fan now…I sort of look for to it. It's a lot more fun actually, than actually having to go out into the mud and snow."

The deal also includes Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound production companies as well as the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise.

Disney and Lucas already had an existing relationship that allowed the theme park to build attractions based on Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
