I think a lot of us have dreamed of being so rich, we could just buy an island and say goodbye to the hustle and bustle. Even a primitve one like Gilligan and company landed on would be cool (as long as Mary Ann was there). But one with all the bells and whistles? Even better.

Larry Ellison, the billionaire CEO of the Oracle computer software company, went on the mother of all shopping sprees and purchased the Hawaiian island of Lana'i.

It’s Hawaii's sixth largest island and includes two luxury resorts, two golf courses, two clubhouses and 88,000 acres of land.

Ellison had a few bucks to throw around as he is number six on Forbes' world billionaires list with a net worth of $36 billion.
